1. Bridgeland/Riverside

This neighborhood is within walking distance of the Regency Suites Hotel and Calgary’s downtown core. It is home to the popular Calgary Ζoo and Telus Spark. This spot also has some great shopping and dining options, perfect for on-foot adventures with easy access to public transit.

2. Dalhousie

Dalhousie is a neighborhood that gives people the best of both worlds by being both near the city and bordering Nose Hill Park, the Shaganappi Trail, and Crowchild Trail. Access to Crowchild Trail gives easy access to the Rockie Mountains for those who are seeking a weekend getaway with spectacular views.

3. Hilhurst

Hillhurst is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Calgary and is easy to get to from downtown. This community is alive with shops, markets, and festivals. The community is embraced by the young and the old who enjoy its unique small town vibe, and the trendy restaurants, bars, and cafés.

4. The Beltline

This neighborhood has all the elements of a great adventure. It is home to the Calgary Stampede, the 17th Avenue S.W. strip, plus great food and cafes. It is easily accessed by public transit and makes a great walkable trip for those craving a change of scenery from downtown.

5. Riverbend

Riverbend is a community located on the east side of Bow River, close to Glenmore Trail, Carburn Park, and Sue Higgins Park. Carburn Park has a couple of great fishing spots and Sue Higgins Park is known for having the largest fenced off-leash dog park in Calgary, for those staying at the Regency Suites Hotel with their dogs. Aside from plenty of access to nature at a convenient spot in the city, this neighborhood is also home to the popular Station Pub and Grill.


Calgary is a great city with plenty to do and see. It’s access to gorgeous mountain views and beautiful nature trails is a bonus for those who love the bustle and entertainment of city life, with the option to retreat to nature when a break is needed.
