Every Wednesday in August there will be a Pop-Up Picnic at Bankers Hall Turtle Park, on the corner of 9th Avenue and 3rd Street SW.
A Pop Up Picnic is a lunch hour (noon to 1pm) event hosted by Downtown Calgary. The picnics will take place at various locations around downtown. Downtown Calgary will provide tables, chairs, entertainment. Just bring your lunch and some friends for a fun, relaxing mid-day treat. The Taste of Calgary, the city’s premier festival celebrating international foods and beverages, takes place for its 20th year at Eau Clair’s Festival Plaza. Indulge in sample-size menu items at sample-sized pricing from Calgary’s finest food and beverage places. The festival will also feature live local music. This is a great family-friendly event that is open daily from 11 am to 10 pm Thursday, August 11th to Sunday, August 14, 2016.
Calgary's own indie/alternative country music festival returns for its 9th year. The Spaghetti Western Festvial is an alternative country music festival that is free and open to the public. It takes places on August 20th at the Olympic Plaza from 12-3pm. The lineup includes music from Romi Mayes, Steve Dawson, Tim Hus, Justin Vandergrift and more.
