Just in time for cinco de mayo! If you love tacos, you don’t want to miss this event. Kicking off at the end of April is a week-long celebration of the best tacos in the city. You’ll be able to purchase one $5 taco or a $13 taco platter. A few of the participating vendors include The Mission, Anejo, Midtown Kitchen and Bar, and Home and Away. This isn’t a competition, but we won’t discourage you from rating the tacos with your friends and family.
Proceeds support three Calgary charities: Calgary Homeless Foundation, Kids Up Front and the Calgary Food Bank. For more information, visit YYC Taco Fiesta's Website.
The Light In the Piazza is a romantic boy-meets-girl tale that is running throughout May at the Theatre Calgary. Set in Italy in 1953, Clara happens to meet a handsome stranger and their chance meeting grows into true love. Things get complicated when Clara's mother, needs to decide whether or not to share a secret with her that could influence the outcome of the young couple's romantic relationship. We suggest you bring mom along to this show for Mother's Day because, at the heart of the play, is a mother who does everything she can for her daughter.
