There are Trade shows and then there are Trade shows. When the doors opened to the annual Calgary Home + Design Show from September 17th to 20th, the crowd of over 30,000 visitors and more than 350 exhibitors could not have been happier.
After nearly a year of tireless work behind the scenes lining up celebrities, coordinating venues, guest speakers, designers, renovators, workshops and more, the 2015 Calgary Home + Design Show was deemed to be bigger and better than ever and by everyone’s measure, a smashing success.
For three days running the multitude in attendance experienced a little piece of heaven right here on earth with some of Canada’s finest designers and home improvement experts on scene to give them tips, fresh ideas along with fun and creative ways to transform their homes from ordinary to extraordinary!
Held in Calgary’s BMO Centre, attendees were treated to an extravaganza of venues and home-design workshops with presentations by some of the most creative and innovative builders and home-improvement experts in the field today.
One of the most anticipated shows took place at The Trail Appliances Main Stage which played host to some of today’s top home-design specialists and renovators.
Headliners included HGTV’s Master Contractor Bryan Baeumler, star of the hit show House of Bryan 3, Leave it to Bryan and Baeumler Approved.
As if having super star Bryan weren’t enough, the Main Stage was also graced by legendary Style Consultant and HGTV star Sarah Baeumler, who, in case you didn’t know, is Bryan’s lovely wife.
Bryan addressed everything from complete house renovations to mini-revamps.
Bryan and Sarah Baeumler were just the opening act. A Dream Team of presenters was in attendance including such personalities as those listed below and many more.
Offering a little something for everyone, the 2015 Home + Design Show was replete with home renovation experts, consultants, interior designers and construction gurus, many of whom answered specific questions from eager homeowners hungry for some professional insight into their personal projects.
While home-design, renovation and makeovers was the overall theme, there were hundreds of exhibitors on display to feed the curiosity and even the appetites of the thousands in attendance.
On the Calgary Herald Cooking Stage for example, visitors were treated to handy cooking tips, delicious recipes and expert advice from top-drawer butchers, bakers and celebrity chefs who even offered in-depth cooking demonstrations to ensure one could make these very same recipes at home with savory and spectacular results.
A few companies offering up their wares were the Craft Beer Market Restaurant + Bar , an innovator in supporting local food growers and incorporating them into their cuisine. In addition to great local tucker, their restaurant claims the largest selection of Craft beers in all of Canada.
Other food vendors included:
Between the Fall Flower Market , Seniors Day , Family Day , and the Junior Chef Challenge , and the various food trucks as well, the proverbial, a good time was had by all , was never more evident.
If somehow you missed this year’s event, it’s not too early to be thinking about attending next years. Plans are already underway to make it even bigger and better; a lofty goal considering how spectacular this year’s turned out to be.
