Make It, The Handmade Revolution, was founded by siblings Chandler and Jenna Herbut in 2008. As makers themselves, the pair wanted to create an event that allowed Canadians selling handmade goods to share their creations with the public. Today, the company hosts biannual shows in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary.
Make It is an event for people who enjoy supporting local entrepreneurs. This event is a great place to buy special gifts directly from their makers and discover items that will have a special story attached to them. This is something that you can't get buying mass-produced items from a department store.
This spring, the Make It team is hosting their biggest spring show yet. Make It 2017 will be taking place from April 7 to 9 at Big Four in Stampede Park. This handmade shopping experience features more than 175 makers from across Canada! Tickets cost $5 at the door and children 12 and under get in for free.
Visitors of this year's event can look forward to several attractions. Aside from booths selling handmade goods, guests can check out Make It's beer garden, enjoy great music, and take part in a silent auction. Items sold in the silent auction will be donated from the event's makers and 100% of the proceeds will be going to the Make a Wish Foundation.
“We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our room at Regency during our conference, the room was very clean, parking was great and the front desk was excellent. We even got a chance to use the exercise room!” -Janet B.
